MrsTubs Giving Donor Terms
- Provider:

- Effective date:
- In effect.
- Version:
- giving-donor-terms v1.0
Thank you for giving. This page explains what happens when you do.
The short version
- You are giving to the organization, not to MrsTubs. We are the software that carries the gift.
- Your money goes straight to that organization's own bank account. We never hold it.
- Gifts are generally not refundable, but if something went wrong, ask us and we will help.
- Whether your gift is tax-deductible depends on that organization, not on us. We print what they told us.
1. Who you are giving to
When you give through MrsTubs, the organization shown on the page is the one receiving your gift. Your payment is charged directly to that organization's own payment account with Stripe. MrsTubs never takes ownership of your money and never holds it.
MrsTubs is software. MrsTubs is not a charity, is not a fundraiser, and is not a party to your gift. We do not run the organization, do not control what it does with your gift, and do not promise anything about it.
2. What we charge
The organization pays one all-in rate per gift, which covers card processing and the MrsTubs software. At checkout you are offered the choice to cover that fee so the organization keeps the full amount. Covering it is optional. If you decline, the organization simply receives the gift minus the fee. The amount is shown to you before you pay.
You may also add a voluntary tip to MrsTubs. It is optional, it goes to MrsTubs and not to the organization, and it is never tax-deductible.
3. Your gift is generally final
A donation is a gift. Once it is given it is generally not refundable. The organization is counting on it.
That said, mistakes happen. If you gave by accident, gave the wrong amount, did not mean to give at all, or believe something is wrong, email [email protected] or reply to your receipt email and tell us the name on the gift, the organization, the date and amount, and your receipt number. We will help. You can also ask the organization directly. If your gift is refunded, you get the whole amount back, including any tip you added to MrsTubs.
Right now the system handles full refunds. If you need only part of a gift back, tell us and we will sort it out by hand. A refund goes back to the same card you used and usually takes 5 to 10 business days to appear, depending on your bank.
4. If you do not recognize a charge
Email [email protected] first. We can usually sort it out the same day, and it is faster than a bank dispute.
You always have the right to dispute a charge with your card issuer. If you do, your card company handles it directly with the organization's payment account, because that is where the charge was made. MrsTubs is not part of that process and cannot decide it either way.
5. Taxes
Whether your gift is tax-deductible depends entirely on the organization you gave to, not on MrsTubs.
Each organization tells us its own tax status and certifies it is accurate. MrsTubs does not verify it. Your receipt says which one applies:
- If the organization has attested it is a registered 501(c)(3), your receipt states that attestation, the organization's EIN, and the deductible amount. That statement is the organization's, not ours.
- If the organization is an informal group, your receipt says plainly that your gift is not tax-deductible. We say it at the top rather than hiding it.
A voluntary tip to MrsTubs is never deductible.
MrsTubs does not give tax advice. If the deduction matters to you, keep your receipt and talk to your own tax adviser.
6. Your receipt
We email a receipt to the address you give us, with the amount, the date, the organization, an itemized breakdown, and the tax statement described above. If you did not give an email address we cannot send one. If it did not arrive, check your spam folder and then email [email protected] and we will resend it.
7. Giving anonymously
Checking "Give anonymously" hides your name from the public supporter list on the giving page.
It does not hide you from the organization. The organization still receives your name and email so it can thank you and keep its records. We would rather be clear about that than let you assume otherwise.
8. Dedications
If you dedicate a gift in honor or in memory of someone, that name is stored with your gift and may be shown to the organization. Names on dedications are not shown publicly on an anonymous gift.
9. Your information
We handle your information as described in the MrsTubs Privacy Policy. In short: we collect what you type into the giving form and share it with the organization you chose, which is an independent controller of that information and has its own practices. Stripe processes your card. MrsTubs never sees or stores your full card number.
10. What we do not promise
MrsTubs provides the software "as is" and "as available," with no warranties of any kind.
MrsTubs makes no promise about any organization on the platform, about what it will do with your gift, about whether it will reach any goal, or about its tax status. Any dispute about a gift, a cause, or how money was used is between you and that organization, and you release MrsTubs from claims arising out of it.
To the maximum extent the law allows, MrsTubs is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, and MrsTubs' total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of the MrsTubs fees connected to your gift or US $100.
11. Basics
You must be at least 18 to give. MrsTubs Giving is offered in the United States only, in U.S. dollars. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, disputes go only to courts located in Wyoming, and you and MrsTubs each give up the right to a jury trial. We may update these terms going forward and will post the new effective date.
