What we collect

When you make a gift, we record:

• Your name and email address, so the organization can thank you and so we can send your receipt.
• Whether you asked to be anonymous.
• The amount, the fundraiser, and the date.
• Your dedication, if you chose to give in honor or in memory of someone.
• Your IP address, which we keep to stop fraud and abuse on the donation form — not to build a profile of you.

If you create an organization to raise money, we also hold what you typed into that form and what Stripe tells us about whether your account can receive payouts.

Why we collect it

To carry your gift to the organization, to email your receipt, to answer you if something goes wrong, and to keep the donation form from being used by card testers. That is the whole list. We do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not share it with advertisers.

There are no third-party trackers, advertising pixels, or analytics scripts anywhere on this site. That is not a promise we ask you to take on trust — it is checked by an automated test that fails our build if one is ever added.

Your card details

Your card number never reaches our servers. The card fields on the payment step are served directly by Stripe, our payment processor, and your details go from your browser to Stripe without passing through us. We never see, store, or have any way to retrieve your card number.

Your gift is charged on the organization's own Stripe account, not ours. MrsTubs.com never holds your money.

Who else sees it

• The organization you gave to. They see your name, email, amount, and dedication — unless you gave anonymously. What they do with it afterwards is governed by their own practices, not ours.
• Stripe, who processes the payment, under their privacy policy .
• Our email provider, to deliver your receipt.

We will also disclose information if the law requires it. If that ever happens, we will tell you unless we are legally forbidden from doing so.

Giving anonymously

If you tick "give anonymously", your name is not shown on the fundraiser's public supporter list. Be clear about what this does and does not mean: the organization still receives your details, because they need them to issue a receipt and to comply with their own record-keeping. Anonymous means anonymous to the public page, not anonymous to the organization.

How long we keep it

Gift records are financial records. We keep them for as long as the organization and we are required to — tax and accounting rules generally mean several years — because a receipt you may need to produce has to still be true. Anti-fraud records such as IP addresses are kept for a much shorter period.

Your choices

• You can ask us what we hold about you.
• You can ask us to correct it.
• You can ask us to delete it — though where a gift record is required by tax or accounting rules, we will tell you honestly what we cannot remove and why, rather than quietly keeping it.
• You can ask the organization you gave to for the same, separately.
