About this example

Twenty-two kids, ages nine to fourteen, practice in a church basement on Tuesday and Thursday nights. They earned a spot at the regional showcase in April, which is four hours away and needs a chartered bus. We are raising $6,000: $3,400 for the bus and two nights of rooms, and $2,600 for shoes, because half the team is dancing in sneakers. Anything left over goes into next year's competition fund, and we post the receipts to the parents' group either way.
